I received my first show Dachshund from Jennifer Crocker at Dachsbau Dachshunds. Jennifer has become a wonderful mentor and friend. Mary Galvan of Manmar Dachshunds has been showing and breeding champion dachshunds for the last 30 years and I have been fortunate to become her friend, and she, another of my mentors. She and I are having so much fun showing and traveling together. Mary has lines from Kokodachs. I must thank Janet Mauldin (Rocksolid), Karyn and Jeff Dionne (Wagsmore) and Gloria LaTour (Hidden Cedars) for being so gracious to help me grade puppies and trusting me with their lines, too.
We do not breed often, and when we do, we breed for our next special show dog. Our dogs are raised in our home with love and lots of attention. We will occassionally have a puppy to sell to a pet home or an established AKC show home. We are members of the Houston Dachshund Club and adhere to their rules and to our standards, which means that all pets are sold on a spay/neuter contract. We reserve the right to choose the homes that our puppies or adults go to and we will not sell to puppy mills, pet stores, or to agents.
We show longhaired miniature Dachshunds in the Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma areas, however, it is not beyond us to venture out further when we want to take a mini vacation. Our home is located in Texas, between Galveston and Houston. Emails are encouraged and welcomed! I love hearing from others that have an interest in the Dachshund, or Dane breed (my first show breed), for that matter.
