OzO’s Dachshunds is located in a small community town near the Gulf of Mexico. Our small kennel is located in our home and with our vast array of family members(5 sons and 10 grandchildren), friends, neighbors, and other family’s dogs that frequently visit; socialization of our dachshunds is never a problem.

We have been breeding and showing Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds since 2005, however, dachshunds have always been a part of our lives, even when we were children. Showing Dachshunds was preceded by showing and breeding Great Danes from 1989 until 1998. Our breeding philosophy is to breed the best to the best for soundness, type, and exceptional temperaments. Every OzO puppy and dog is treated like a treasured member of the family. Puppies are occasionally available to approved homes and are sold with a contract. Companion pups are sold with AKC limited registration after proof of spay/neutering.

We are members of the Dachshund Club of America (DCA), the Houston Dachshund Club (HDC), the National Miniature Dachshund Club (NMDC), the Mission City Dachshund Club of San Antonio and the Galveston’s County Kennel Club (GCKC). We follow our clubs ethics and rules.

I had the distinct honor of judging Sweepstakes for the Great Dane Club of Greater Houston in 2010, and currently pursuing a license to judge Great Danes and Dachshunds. I have served as president, secretary, board member, and chaired multiple committees at the The Great Dane Club of Greater Houston (GDCGH), and served on the board of the HDC where I chaired several committees. I currently serve as the legislative liaison chair on the GCKC.

I want to thank my husband for his support. OzO’s would not be as successful as it is without all that he does, watching puppies and dogs while I am away pursuing their championships and attending club meetings. He has taken many a puppy to the vet for immunizations and to the airport when going to new homes. Thank you, Honey!

I cannot end this without thanking those many mentors (many that have become friends) that have taken their time to teach me, show me, answer questions over and over, assure me that my pups were worthy of showing and I could go on and on…thank you! Jennifer Crocker (Dachsbau’s); Mary Galvan (Manmar); Karyn and Jeff Dionne (Wagsmore); Janet Mauldin (Rocksolid) Gloria LaTour (Hidden Cedars), Melissa Sworab (Rabows) and several other dachshund breeders at the shows or on the internet that have helped in so many ways. A special notation for Neil Jordan (Jordoxies) and Jon Concoran. They both have the same love of dachshunds that I have, and have become great friends over the past couple of years. Thank you for all the ways that you all have been there, giving advice, support, laughter, sharing your knowledge, and just listening! What an honor to know so many greats!
